Lessons learned to improve our infrastructure

Every year, we carry out a technical review of our infrastructure, focused on identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring that our platform continues to offer the best possible experience to our users.

As a system ages, it becomes more difficult to rewrite it

Inspired by the harsh consequences for other Geomarketing platforms that neglect these cycles, we learned the value of dedicating time and resources to “pay our technical debt” and thus keep our platform efficient and agile.

Minor adjustments to gain speed

A valuable lesson we learned is that making small infrastructure improvements have a direct impact on the agility with which we can launch new features and improve the user experience.

That's why, in addition to the incremental improvements, we adopted a complete rewrite approach.

This includes everything from code optimizations to platform performance adjustments.

Each small adjustment reduces the “cognitive load” of those involved, making it easier to understand what the system is capable of and allowing for faster and more effective changes.

This, in turn, is reflected in a more stable platform with fewer interruptions for our users.

Visible and invisible improvements

Large-scale reengineering only works when there's a clear commitment.

While many of the technical improvements are invisible to users, we always seek to connect our internal efforts with tangible benefits for our clients.

What lies ahead

Our goal with each technical review is to always improve Mapfry's performance, ensuring that it is a robust and reliable platform for your Geomarketing analyses.

We remain focused on providing a simple yet powerful experience so that you can make strategic decisions in an agile and consistent manner.
